Near Record Heat Friday
A warm front has slipped through Southern New England early this morning and as a result, we are starting with temperatures near the day’s average high of 63. With this warm start, combined with a warm southwesterly inflow and sunshine, high temperatures will make a run at 80 degrees. Today’s record high is 83 degrees from 1983. Temperatures will be much cooler along the coast, topping out near 60. Clouds thicken overnight and rain develops pre-dawn Saturday with morning temps in the mid-50s. Saturday will be quite unsettled as a cold front comes through. The day will be occupied with periods of rain and even the chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures will be much cooler, but seasonable, reaching the lower-60s. Rain winds down Saturday night and Sunday looks drier. It will be much cooler as temperatures max out in the 50s. There will be a slight chance of a shower and clouds linger through the day as well. Everything changes next week with high pressure bringing a return to the sunny trend and temperatures topping out in the 70s both Monday and Tuesday. Another front comes through Wednesday with more clouds and the slightest chance of a shower and warm highs near 75. Thursday will be mostly sunny with cooler temps in the 60s.
