PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Nearly 6,000 people remain without power throughout Rhode Island after Saturday morning’s storm.

According to Rhode Island Energy’s outage map webpage 3,939 customers were without power as of 1:45 p.m.

At one point this morning, the number exceeded 10,000.

The largest amount of outages were in Exeter, Hopkinton, Narragansett, North Kingstown, Richmond and South Kingstown.

On Friday Rhode Island Energy said that it had readied 1,700 staff to prepare for outages caused by the storm.

:Even with the storms coming right on top of one another, we want customers to know we are preparing accordingly and have secured additional line and forestry workers to assist with the restoration efforts,” President Dave Bonenberger said.
