Neronha to give update on lawsuit against construction company accused of contaminated fill dump
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Wednesday morning, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha will present an update on a three-year-old lawsuit regarding the controversial construction of the 6-10 interchange.
Back in January 2023, Neronha announced a lawsuit against the Canton, Massachusetts based Barletta Heavy Division.
The lawsuit accused the construction firm of illegally dumping tons of contaminated fill during the 2020 construction.
In a 2023 statement, Barletta claims its work on the project didn’t violate any criminal laws.
While not much is known about Wednesday morning’s development, we do know the attorney general will be joined by Department of Environmental management Director Terry Gray, and the Rhode Island Dental Association.
That will be at 10:30 a.m. at the attorney general’s office.
