PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee and Pawtucket school officials cut the ribbon at a new accessible playground on Wednesday morning.

The Pawtucket School Department was inspired to bring Everyone’s Playground to Curvin-McCabe Elementary School.

“Let us remember, that it is through our collective actions, that we can truly change the world for the better,” said Superintendent Patricia Royal. “Together, every student, every day.”

The school was chosen because it did not have a playground and is located on Cottage Street in the center of the city.

Everyone’s Playground was designed to have smaller spaces to create less sensory overload for children.

The playground provides more ways to exercise and experience multi-sensory play.
