New Bedford City Council to vote on benefits for families of city employees who died of COVID-19

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford City Council is set to vote on a petition Thursday to provide accidental death benefits to the families of city workers who died from COVID-19.

The benefits would not apply to any workers that died while working remotely or from home.

If the City Council moves the petition forward, then it will head to the Massachusetts General Assembly for final approval.
