New Bedford man arrested for possessing firearm without license

A New Bedford man, without a license to carry a firearm, was arrested after authorities found him in possession of a loaded firearm Saturday afternoon.
21 year old Bruno Ferreira, of New Bedford was arrested after police executed a search warrant and found him in the basement of his apartment on Division Street at 3 p.m. with a loaded firearm on June 27th.
Ferreira, who does not have a license to carry firearms, fled into another room and discarded the firearm.
He is being charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a large capacity firearm or feeding device.
Ferreira is scheduled to be arraigned on June 29th at the New Bedford District Court.
