New Bedford man arrested for trafficking over 300 grams of cocaine

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police arrested a man for allegedly trafficking over 300 grams of cocaine last week.
Police said that they arrested 27-year-old Michael Gonzalez Wednesday afternoon, after searching his apartment on North Street.
In the apartment, detectives found a pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition and drugs, including seven bags of crack cocaine, 12 bags of fentanyl, and 33 tabs of xanax. They also seized cutting tools, packaging materials, digital scales, and $3,219 in cash.
Police searched Gonzalez’s car and found three bags of cocaine weighing 0.8 grams.
Gonzalez is being charged with the following:
• Possession of ammunition without an FID card
• Possession to distribute a class B drug
• Trafficking in 200 grams or more of cocaine
• Possession of a firearm
• Unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device
• Trafficking in 36 grams or more of fentanyl
• Possession of a class E drug
• Possession to distribute a class A drug
