New Bedford man sentenced to five years in cocaine conspiracy

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – A New Bedford man was sentenced in federal court Thursday for his role in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy, according to the Massachusetts District Attorney’s Office.
Jason Valliere, 43, was sentenced to five years in prison and four years of supervised release. Valliere pleaded guilty in March to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
In October 2020, Valliere was charged, along with three co-conspirators, for coordinating a multi-kilogram cocaine deal with undercover agents. At the time of his arrest, authorities say they also found a loaded firearm that matched the description of the rifle he said he would bring to the deal.
