New Bedford man sentenced to up to 6 years for stabbing, robbery
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas Quinn said that a 28-year-old New Bedford man was sentenced to up to six years in state prison due to a robbery and stabbing that occurred on May 7, 2024.
Dante Hector was charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a knife, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
Hector admitted that he and another defendant robbed a man of his backpack which contained money, his phone and wallet, and then beat and stabbed the victim.
He also damaged the victim’s motorcycle.
Hector was identified by surveillance and cellphone video of the incident.
He was sentenced to serve four to six-and-a-half years in state prison, followed by one year of probation.
