New Bedford PD issue over $31k in tickets during winter storm

NEW BEDFORD, MASS (WLNE) –  New Bedford police issued $31,050 in fines and towed 194 vehicles during the winter storm.

On Wednesday night, Mayor Jon Mitchell issued a city-wide parking ban that started at 5:00 PM and will be lifted at 5:00 PM on Thursday.

A total of 621 tickets were issued.

New Bedford police said it was $50 a ticket and those who had their vehicles towed need to contact the department directly.
