New Bedford Police arrest 2 after shots fired incident

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said that two people were arrested in relation to a shots fired incident on Sept. 10.

22-year-old Adilson Moreno was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a firearm without a license, while 31-year old Ariana Santos was also arrested.

Police responded to a Southcoast condominium complex around 9 p.m. for reports of a man threatening someone with a gun.

Officers said they found a handgun in the area but no suspect.

Police then responded to Phillips Road for reports of a gunshot into an apartment, where they found a bullet hole in a bedroom wall.

The department said a search of the area found a black backpack under a vehicle containing a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm handgun.
