New Bedford police arrest 3 for breaking into house

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said that three people were arrested Thursday for breaking into a house on the city’s south end.
Edwin Gonzalez, of College Point, N.Y., and Stevenz Diaz-Rodriguez, of New York City, were both charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for the purpose of committing a felony while placing a person in fear.
Elisa Morales, also from New York City, was charged with being an accessory after the fact and unlicensed operation of an unregistered motor vehicle.
The department said that officers responded to a home on Brock Avenue after a woman, who locked herself in a room when she heard intruders and could not speak loud enough for an operator, texted 911.
At the same time, animal control officers saw two men dressed in black clothes bring a large duffel bag to a waiting car.
The animal control officers followed the car, which the suspects where allegedly in, and it was eventually stopped by police.
