New Bedford police arrest man after alleged gun and drugs seizure

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford man was arrested after police allegedly found an illegal gun and drugs inside his safe on Dec. 13, according to New Bedford police.

Police were investigating a residence on State Street when officers found 32-year-old Aurold Januario’s safe.

Police obtained a search warrant for the safe and allegedly found a handgun, crack cocaine, oxycodone, amphetamine, and other narcotics.

According to police, Januario does not have a valid license to possess his alleged handgun.

Additionally, police alleged the defendant had 11 rounds of ammunition.

Police seized the items and arrested Januario.
