New Bedford Police look for purse snatching suspect

New Bedford Police are looking for the young man suspected of stealing a purse from a 70-year-old Fairhaven woman.
Police say the victim was waiting for a bus at Earle St. and Acushnet Ave. around 12:49 Monday afternoon when a young man came up to her and asked for a dollar. As she was reaching into her purse, he grabbed it from her and ran away.
She was not injured.
The suspect was described as a thin white male who was about 16 years old. He was wearing blue gym pants with a white stripe down the side and a blue hoodie.
