Man dead after shooting in New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – New Bedford police confirm a man is dead after a shooting on Ashley Blvd. in New Bedford Monday afternoon.
Lt. Scott Corola confirmed police got calls of a shots fired incident around 2:15 p.m.
A male victim was found at the scene. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as Naurik Michel-Brown, 23, of New Bedford.
Lt. Corola said authorities have identified a suspect, but no further details have been released at this time.
In a post on the New Bedford Police Facebook, authorities asked people to avoid the areas around Whitman St. and Eugenia St. as investigators were on scene.
