New Bedford police seize guns and drugs from repeat offender

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said that detectives arrested a north end man after executing a search warrant that found a large cache of cash, drugs, and guns.

32-year-old Earl Garner was charged with trafficking in excess of 200 grams of cocaine, trafficking in excess of 100 grams of fentanyl, and 4 counts of firearm possession, among several other charges.

Police said a search warrant was executed at Tarkiln Hill Road on Jan. 8.

The search allegedly found Garner to be in possession of 396 grams of cocaine, 142 grams of Fentanyl, four grams of crack cocaine, Suboxone strips, and drug dealing materials.

There was also allegedly four firearms at the residence, including a .380 handgun stolen from Georgia, as well as $79,932 in cash.

Garner had previous convictions for firearms-related charges out of Brockton District Court and Bristol Superior, and an open case in Malden District Court for carrying a firearm without a license and was on an electronic monitoring bracelet.
