New Bedford police seize large amount of fentanyl in arrest

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police arrested two suspects in a suspected fentanyl distribution operation.
Antonio Concepcion-Diaz, 40, and Yarisbeth Rojas-Lopez, 39, were arrested on April 4 at their 164 Richmond Street address.
A search of the residence secured 365 grams of fentanyl, 16 grams of cocaine, scales and packaging materials and $4,287 in cash.
Both suspects are being charged with trafficking fentanyl in excess of 200 grams, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance laws.
“As the opiate crisis continues to take lives at an alarming rate all across the country, our officers continue to target the biggest offenders who are perpetuating the problem. We continue to fight this epidemic on multiple fronts, and I’m proud of all the efforts aimed at saving lives,” said New Bedford Police Chief Paul Oliveira.
