New Bedford School Advisory Counselor charged with OUI

NEW BEDFORD, MASS. (WLNE)- A School Advisory Counselor was arrested and charged with OUI, New Bedford Police told ABC6 Tuesday.

Marcia Almeida, 43, was operating a vehicle under the influence which resulted in a three-car accident.

The accident took place on Tarklin Hill Road and Plympton Street, December 22 around 4:30p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Almeida is a counselor at Winslow Elementary School, as listed on their website.

“This matter is being taken very seriously.  It is a personnel matter and is currently under investigation,” said Arthur Motta, Community and Public Affairs Manager for New Bedford Public Schools.
