New Bedford to hold community preservation meeting, open new transitional assistance office
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Community Preservation Committee wants to hear from the public to update next fiscal year’s community preservation plan.
The plan allows the city to help fund open space, historic preservation and affordable housing throughout the city.
The public meeting will help the city identify its priorities in each of these areas.
That meeting will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the third floor of the New Bedford Public Library.
Also in New Bedford, the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance will open its new, accessible office Tuesday afternoon.
The Kilburn Street office will help residents in the Whaling City get assistance to get their basic needs met.
That ribbon cutting is set for 1 p.m.
