New England Aquarium releases 3 rehabilitated sea turtles off Cape Cod

DENNIS, Mass. (WLNE) — The New England Aquarium released three rehabilitated endangered Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles into the Nantucket Sound Thursday.
Foxglove, Peony, and Marigold spent months rehabilitating at the Sea Turtle Hospital in Quincy after being stranded in December of 2023.
The aquarium said the turtles underwent treatment for hypothermia-related conditions including pneumonia, dehydration, and emaciation.
The three turtles were the last of the 394 turtles that were rescued and treated after the 2023 cold-stunning season.
