New firefighters honored at graduation ceremony

EXETER, R.I. WLNE – The Rhode Island Municipal Fire Academy honored eighteen new recruits in a graduation ceremony on Friday morning.
The graduation ceremony was the last step of a nine-week training program for the new recruits to become certified firefighters.
Amongst the eighteen recruits, the fire academy certified their first ever female trainee, a mother from East Providence.
The eighteen trainees will serve four different communities in the ocean state.
The graduating class is the second class to complete the rigorous training program.
