JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A new 50 bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital opened Thursday in Johnston, and is expected to start serving patients this month.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation of Johnston, located at 2109 Hartford Avenue, will provide rehabilitative services for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and orthopedic conditions.

All patients will receive a minimum of three hours of intensive therapy for five days each week, frequent physician visits and 24-hour nursing care.

The hospital features private patient rooms, a therapy gym, dialysis suite, pharmacy and dayroom and is staffed by physicians, nurses and therapists.

“The opening of this hospital represents a new chapter of hope, healing and independence for many individuals in our community,” said Daniel Parkinson, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Johnston.

“We look forward to providing compassionate, high-quality rehabilitative care to help our patients get back to what matters most.”
