New state program gives money to Mass. communities for pothole repairs

Drivers are plenty familiar with damage this winter has done to roadways.

In Massachusetts, the Baker Administration has launched a new program to help communities repair roads and bridges. 

The Winter Recovery Assistance Program will provide $30 million to cities and towns using funds that were allocated from the Department of Transportation’s existing fiscal year 2015 bond authorization.

Fall River is getting $285,000 from the state’s program to help pay for its pothole repairs.

New Bedford is eligible for $318,000, and Attleboro $181,000.
