Newport assault suspect turns himself in

The suspect in the brutal beating of a man in Newport back in January has turned himself in.
Police say 27–year old Freddie Hicks turned himself in Thursday morning.
Hicks is accused of brutally beating 28–year–old Kyle Kettner on Bliss Road in the early morning hours of January 18.
Kettner sustained a severe head injury in the assault
Hicks was arraigned Thursday morning and bail was set at $20,000 with surety.
