Newport Police arrest 2 men in connection with sexual assault

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — The Newport Police Department said it arrested two men for allegedly sexually assaulting a third man.

24-year-old Juan Carlos Montepeque-Albizures and 33-year-old Alvaro Gomez-Alvarez were charged with First Degree sexual assault and conspiracy to commit sexual assault.

The two are accused of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old male at a Newport residence on Nov. 18.

Search warrants were executed at both Albizures’ residence on Broadway as well as at a Kinston Avenue location.

Both men were held without bail and are being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions.
