Newport Mayor Proposes Plan To Close Some Streets To Promote Social Distancing

NEWPORT, R.I. (WLNE) — Newport residents should expect a knock on their door from the city’s water division this week.

According to a spokesperson from the city, Newport officials will be going door-to-door to find homes and businesses that still have lead piping.

Members of the Newport Water Division will be making their way around the city during the week between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and noon on Saturdays
