PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A Newport woman pleaded guilty in federal court to the receipt of child pornography, United States Attorney Aaron Weisman announced today.

Karissa A. Cave, 23, told the court she had requested a video of an adult engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a toddler during a conversation on Facebook messenger.

According to court testimony, after receiving the video, Cave asked, “Is there anymore?”.

Cave was then sent an image of prepubescent children engaged in sexual behavior.

Cave is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16, 2020, when she could receive up to 20 years imprisonment and lifetime supervised release.

A special assessment of $5,000 dollars will also be imposed, a requirement of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.
