Nine cats rescued from 46-cat hoarding situation available for adoption in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announced Thursday that the first group of nine cats recently rescued from a hoarding situation are now up for adoption.

The RISPCA will have open adoption hours Thursday and Friday from noon-4 p.m.

The organization said that there are more than many other cats available to adopt from the hoarding case, and multiple others to take home.

According to the RISPCA, the residence had 46 cats including kittens, two of which were pregnant with one having since given birth.

Four dogs were also rescued from the home.

The adoption fee for an adult cat is $175 and the kitten adoption fee is $275 with a $50 discount for adopting a pair of either.

All of the cats have been given a full compliment of health checks and treatments, including spaying and neutering, vaccines, microchips, deworming, tick/flea/mite treatment and FeLV/FIV/heartworm testing.

Applications can be found here, and the shelter is located at 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI.
