No credible threat related to report of white powder at Providence post office

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence officials said Monday that there was no credible threat connected to a hazmat situation after a report of white powder found in a post office.
Police and fire crews were called to the post office at 24 Corliss St. on Sunday evening for a report of employees exposed to a white powdery substance.
Firefighters secured the area and collected samples of the substances for testing.

There was no credible threat related to the incident and officials said all precautions were taken.
Six people were evaluated on scene as crews entered the building in protective gear and gas masks.
A decontamination tent from North Attleborough was set up outside as crews secured the building.
