PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A Federal Hill nightclub remains closed nearly a month after a patron was fatally beaten and stabbed.

The Department of Business Regulation did not reach a decision Thursday morning regarding the Club Seven’s licenses.

Attorneys for the club appealed to the state to reopen after the Board of Licenses revoked their licenses Wednesday afternoon, shutting the club down.

The Federal Hill nightclub has been closed since June 30 after 28-year-old Stephen Cabral was fatally stabbed on the street outside by a group of men.

Police have made seven arrests in the course of their investigation into the murder.
