No one hurt after call for shots fired in Providence neighborhood

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police said no one was hurt after a report for shots fired in a Providence neighborhood on Friday morning.

Police said they received a call for shots fired on Admiral Street shortly after 10 a.m.

Maj. David Lapatin said several shots were fired, and no one was hit.

Neighbors told an ABC 6 News crew on scene they heard five to six shots.

“I was just working and all of a sudden I hear, like, seven consecutive ‘pows’,” one resident told ABC 6. “Usually we hear things in the neighborhood, but not to that extent, and not that close either.”

Nearby roads were temporarily closed as police investigated.
