No running water for some Charlestown residents after storm
"You wake up, you use the bathroom and that's when you realize you have no water," says Sheila, a resident at Castle Rock Condominiums in Charlestown.
For her, and the more than 250 people who call the castle rock condominiums in Charlestown home, the frustration was immediate.
After turning on their fossets and realizing there was no water, all thanks to the wicked storm that tore through on Tuesday.
"It's not a hurricane, it's not a tornado, it's a severe thunderstorm? Well it acted more like a hurricane to me with all the damage that was done,"says another neighbor.
The complex uses a private water system that took a serious hit during that storm. A hit so serious that it wasn't easily fixed.
"After the second day you start to get, it's like alright already, whats the problem? what's the delay? where is the water,"says Sheila.
The situation forced residents to think outside the box.
"We couldn't shower, and then yesterday we finally took sponge baths, we have a shower out there, so we finally took sponge baths putting water into a watering can and sprinkling us,"says Castle Rock resident Christine Sallstrom.
Thankfully after two long days, the water finally came back on. We are told by residents they are being asked to boil water for the next couple of days to make sure it is safe.
