Noise-monitoring camera legislation proposed for Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The judiciary committee will begin discussions on a proposal backed by Providence Mayor Brett Smiley last week: noise monitoring cameras.

If approved, traffic cameras would be utilized for noise violations.

The system would detect noise limit violations and alert police to the area.
