Nor’easter brings rain and wind Thursday

A Storm Tracker Alert is in effect for Thursday as a Spring Nor’easter intensifies and lifts through Sothern New England. Morning rain will intensify and become heavy at times and there is a chance of thunderstorms, ultimately leaving behind 1-2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts in any thunderstorms.

Street flooding is expected with areas of heavy rain.

Winds will ramp up through the morning that will gust 35-40 mph through tonight. Power outages are possible an loose/ unsecured objects may loft. Eastern coastal Massachusetts will see even higher gusts greater than 45 mph and a Wind Advisory is in effect.

This storm will also have a marine element as a Gale Warning is in effect for high seas and a Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for all coastal areas this afternoon and evening for the potential of minor coastal flooding during the afternoon and evening high tide cycle.

All the while, it will be quite chilly and raw with temperatures in the mid to upper-40s. Rain tapers to showers tonight and patchy fog will develop as temperatures drop in the lower-40s. Friday will be cloudy with a chance of early showers and a gusty breeze.

Look for another day of below average temps in the lower-50s for highs. Saturday will being back at least some sunshine with a mix of sun and clouds and a slight chance of a shower. Saturday highs will be near 58.

Sunday looks promising as more sunshine helps temperatures top in the 60s. Memorial Day Monday will be the winner of the holiday weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower-70s. Tuesday brings the clouds back with highs near 70. While Wednesday brings back the chance of showers and highs drop into the 60s.
