Nor’Easter driving gusty winds, heavy rain & coastal concerns

Our Nor’Easter is still churning away, driving rounds of rain across Southern New England as well as gusty winds, and some concerns for the coast as well.

TIMING: Through Monday, with the worst of the winds on Monday morning.

IMPACTS:

  • Heavy rain (an additional 1-2″ possible throughout Monday/early Tuesday)
  • Gusty winds (30+mph inland, 40+mph for the coast/islands)
  • Minor coastal flooding possible (particularly during high tide around 1:30 PM or so)
  • Some localized power outages possible

It’ll be an uncomfortable, raw-feeling day. Use common sense and caution, especially down by the water! Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Overnight, showers and some heavy rain continues. It’ll still be windy with gusts largely in the 20s. Lows will be in the low 50s.

Tuesday will remain mostly cloudy and murky overall. We’ll have showers around, especially during the first half of the day, and it’ll be breezy as well (gusts still in the 20s). Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s.

While Wednesday will still be breezy, it’ll be partly sunny and in the low to mid 60s– a final turn away from the dreary trend! However, a cold front comes through Wednesday evening, which will send temperatures back into the mid 50s by Thursday afternoon.

Stay weather aware today!
