North Attleborough brush fire causes backup on Interstate 95

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — A brush fire on the side of Interstate 95 in North Attleborough caused traffic to back up.

The fire happened on the southbound side of the highway near exits 4B and A — near Interstate 295.

Multiple lanes of traffic were impacted on the interstate.

Firefighters told ABC 6 News that the flames were heading toward a nearby neighborhood, but were put out before they could reach any homes.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
