North Attleboro movie theater shuttered after early morning theater fire
NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Showcase Cinemas in North Attleboro will remain closed until further notice following an early morning fire inside one of the theaters.
Firefighters were called to the theater on Washington Street just before 9:30 a.m. for a report of smoke.
When firefighters arrived, they found a speaker on fire on the mezzanine level of one of the theaters.
The fire was quickly put out, but getting the smoke out was the bigger challenge.
Firefighters evacuated approximately ten employees and no one was hurt.
Fire chief Chris Coleman said the theater wasn’t open yet, but today’s fire is a good reminder to stay vigilant.
