North Attleboro police mourn retired officer who was struck by a car

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — The North Attleboro Police Department is mourning the loss of Richard Rogers, a retired police officer who died after being struck by a vehicle.

On Oct. 11, police said Rogers was riding his bicycle on South Washington Street when a car hit him, according to North Attleboro Police.

Police said Rogers had recently retired as a special police officer, and would take up jobs when nobody else would during his time as a police officer.

North Attleboro police posted to Facebook that Officer Rogers was “an all around great guy to be around, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
