North Attleborough movie theater to reopen after speaker fire

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Showcase cinemas in North Attleborough has screenings scheduled once again for this morning after the theater had to close Thursday due to a fire.

Firefighters were called to the theater around 9:30 a.m. for reports of smoke.

When they got there, they found a speaker on fire.

The fire was quickly put out but heavy smoke lasted a while.

10 employees were evacuated and no one was hurt.
