North Kingstown man dies after Warwick motorcycle crash involving tractor-trailer

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police said Thursday a North Kingstown man died after a motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
The crashed happened just after 1 a.m. on Quaker Lane.
Capt. Robert Hart said the operator of a Kawasaki motorcycle, identified as Christopher Reddick, was riding southbound in the right hand lane of traffic on Quaker Lane.
Hart said a tractor-trailer was exiting from a dirt parking lot on the west side of that street. As it was leaving, Reddick “initiated emergency braking,” ultimately crashing into the back side of the truck.
Reddick, who’s 53 years old, was thrown from the motorcycle and hit the ground, said the captain. He wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The 53-year-old was then taken to Rhode Island Hospital where he later died.
Hart said at this time, the no vehicle violations connected to the crash have been issued. Speed and alcohol don’t appear to be a factor.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Warwick Police Department at 401-468-4200.
