North Providence man arrested for DUI after Richmond crash

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A North Providence man was arrested for driving under the influence after a head-on collision in Richmond over the weekend.

Police say Jordan Navach, 31, crossed double yellow lines on Kingstown Road before striking another vehicle around 4 p.m. on Saturday near Richmond Elementary School.

Officers took Navach into custody on suspicion of DUI based on officer observations and several field sobriety tests.

Authorities say Navach refused to consent to a chemical test upon transport to the station.

He is charged with DUI (first offense) and refusal to submit to a chemical test (civil).

Navach was arraigned by a bail commissioner and is slated to appear in Fourth Division District Court to be re-arraigned at a later date.
