North Providence man caught on surveillance shooting at SUV arraigned in court
NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A North Providence man was arraigned in court on charges stemming from a shooting on Saturday.
Police responded to the area of Verdi and Mckinley Street for reports of shots fired. One caller specifically claiming his vehicle was shot in the area.
While retrieving ring camera footage in the area, investigators found that the shots were fired from a residence on Verdi Street.
Jesse Lataille, 34, was identified as the owner of the home the shots emanated from.
After obtaining a search warrant, Lataille’s own security footage showed him firing gunshots into the vehicle.
Lataille admitted to firing the weapon, claiming the vehicle was attempting to crash into his neighbors SUV.
Lataille appeared in court on Monday to be arraigned on the following charges: Felony Assault, Firing in a Compact Area, and Using a Firearm When Committing a Crime of Violence.
Bond was set at $25,000 with surety, and a no contact order is in place between Lataille and the driver.
