North Providence man charged with DUI after crashing into Coventry business

COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Coventry Police Department said a North Providence man was arrested Monday morning after driving into a flower shop while allegedly under the influence.

37-year-old Timothy Mitchell was charged with driving under the influence.

Officers responded to JIF Flowers on Main Street around 12:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a car driving into the business.

Police said Mitchell, the operator of the vehicle, allegedly “displayed signs of impairment.”

Mitchell was arrested and taken to Rhode Island Hospital for minor injuries.

He was arraigned on Monday and given $2,500 bail.
