North Providence man dead in apparent murder-suicide in Haverhill

HAVERHILL, Mass. (WLNE) – A North Providence man is dead in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide on Sunday in Haverhill, Mass.

The Essex County District Attorney’s Office said Austin Amaral, 24, of North Providence and Loren Marino, 24, of Haverhill were found dead from gunshot wounds at a home on Broadway.

Officials said officers responded to the residence shortly before 6 p.m. for a well-being check and found the two dead inside the home.

A preliminary investigation found that Amaral and Marino had been in a dating relationship, per authorities.

Officials added that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
