North Providence marks 110th anniversary of Armenian Genocide with flag raising

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Armenian National Committee held a raising of the Armenian flag at North Providence City Hall to recognize the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The event also honored two residents of the city, Ozzie and Liz Kooloian.

The two raised five children in the city, and Mayor Charles Lombardi said Ozzie had been an active member of the community.

Liz died in March.
