North Providence to hold special election to fill seat of late senate president Ruggerio

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — North Providence residents in the fourth senate district in the state will head to the polls and vote for their choice to replace the late Dominick Ruggerio Tuesday.

North Providence city councilman Stefano Famiglietti is representing the Democratic party, while attorney Alex Asermely represents the Republican party.

Ruggerio died in April after a battle with cancer.

He was 76.

Polls will be open at 7 in the morning until 8 at night.
