North Smithfield Police arrest man in connection with break-in at bar

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The North Smithfield Police Department said a man was arrested in connection with a break-in at Island Bar on Victory Highway that occurred on Nov. 16.

57-year-old Russell Berard, of Chepachet, was charged with breaking and entering with criminal intent, larceny, and vandalism.

Berard is accused of breaking into the bar and stealing several items, including alcohol, food, and speakers.

He was arrested on Nov. 21 and his next court date is scheduled for Feb. 27, 2025.
