Northern lights put on a show in southern Massachusetts
SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) — If you live in the South Coast area, you didn’t need to book a trip to Iceland Tuesday night to see one of the island nation’s top attractions.
The northern lights could be seen in the area, like in Swansea, as seen in this photo submitted by ABC6 viewer Matt Simonds.
The phenomenon can occur further south than normal during times of strong solar activity.
Space weather forecasters sent out an alert on the possible sky show for Tuesday night due to severe solar storms.
