Norton Fire Department says 6-year-old pulled from frozen pond has died

NORTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Norton Fire Department said that the 6-year-old autistic girl who was reported missing before being pulled from a pond has died.

Emergency responders arrived at Power Street around 2:30 p.m. to search for the missing girl, who was found in Barrowsville Pond and Wading River.

She was pulled from the water around 3:30 p.m. and transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police closed parts of Power Street when the girl was found.
