NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – Ocean State Job Lot put an expansion in Rhode Island on hold, in opposition of the governor’s proposed tolls for trucks.
Executive Director David Sarlitto says that the plan for a $50 million, 500,000 sq ft distribution center at the North Kingstown warehouse, has been suspended, "pending review and discussion with the state regarding business practices."
Sarlitto made the announcement at the relocation opening of the company’s flagship store in North Kingstown. He says he is "hopeful they can resolve issues with the state to continue plans for investment and expansion in Rhode Island."
